ESI Fungal Meningitis 2019 – Which Meningitis is Contagious

With the rise in food type outbreaks, anyone with a weakened immune system or had ESI Fungal Meningitis can suffer from this illness. Know which Meningitis is Contagious can help you protect yourself and your loved ones are critical concerns.

Patients cured of Fungal Meningitis relapsed.

Remember the Fungal Meningitis outbreak in 2012, I remember because my doctor told me I needed the Epidural Steroid injection, I said No, I’m not taking the Epidural Steroid injection.

Always share essential important information with your loved ones, your family, and friends, keep them out of harm’s way.

I didn’t know anything about meningitis – which meningitis is contagious and how people were getting sick and dying from the injection. People who had the cured of the virus had a relapsed condition now they are suffering again.

Some Healthcare officials blame this on the incubation period of four to six weeks. The patient is in a waiting period at this stage it’s like being out in the woods.

We all have family and friends or know of someone who is suffering from back pain-they may be already getting ESI. The doctors are giving these injections without trying other forms of treatments.

Remember some people diagnosed with one of the listed conditions below, your doctor has you in mind for ESI.

  • Degeneration,
  • bulging disc
  • herniated disc
  • Sciatica

Keep in mind Steroid Injection can suppress your immune system and make it harder to fight off different types of viruses. Doctors are prescribing this form of treatment first and not trying other ways of back pain treatment options.

Remember the FDA does not approve epidural Steroid Injection or (ESI). Also, doctors want to help their patients, so the off-label use is in practice.

Could a fungal meningitis outbreak happen again?

I do believe it could happen again. In most cases not from studies, but eyewitness accounts of the conditions exist for a fungal meningitis outbreak could occur again.

These conditions are from the food industry and drug companies not holding high standards to protect the consumer. Plus, employees lack the proper knowledge of food safety training and procedures. Some employees flat out don’t care about the products that their employer shipped around the U.S.

I have seen employees try to ship dented cans, damaged cans, broken tops, bottles, and other products that can contain mold inside. When I confronted the employees about the problem products – they scorned me for caring.

There are many classes of Meningitis.

  1. Bacterial Meningitis – Highly Contagious
  2. Viral Meningitis – Ask your doctor
  3. Parasitic Meningitis – Not Contagious
  4. Fungal Meningitis – Not Contagious
  5. Chronic Meningitis – Ask your doctor
  6. Non-Infectious Meningitis – Not Contagious

Bacterial Meningitis – is triggered when certain bacteria strains enter your bloodstream. Then into your spinal cord and to the brain. Much can be said about this type of virus view it as being everywhere on everything. It has the potential of killing specific groups of people even if they receive the proper treatment.

The groups affected most are;

  • Newborns up to 12 months
  • Age 16 to 21
  • College students living in dormitories or close quarters
  • Adults with prior medical conditions and those missing a spleen

Bacterial meningitis is very deadly if untreated it can be fatal. Unfortunate, children cases are fatal 5 to 40% and Adult cases 20 to 50% loss the battle with this virus.

Bacteria type of meningitis can spread through fecal contamination, usually when a person does not wash their hands properly after changing a diaper or using the toilet.

Also, can spread through eyes fluids, nose, mouth, and fever blister fluids. Plus in direct contact with any surface with traces of the virus on it.

More about the Classes of Meningitis.

  • Mouth-to-mouth resuscitation
  • In some cases, (eating contaminated food can cause this illness)

Bacterial meningitis holds many technical viruses that are technical and will not be explained and discussed here.

It is crucial if you suspect you have these symptoms to seek immediate medical help at once.

Call If you don’t have transportation call 911 or your local Emergency Medical Services or EMS.

Viral Meningitis – is said to be the most common type of meningitis, when certain viruses enter your body, almost similar to bacterial meningitis in ways of symptoms they exhibit.

Viral meningitis is different because it’s an aseptic illness and the bacteria will not grow in your cerebrospinal fluid. This fluid is the clear fluid that surrounds your spinal cord and brain. Many conditions in other viruses could trigger viral meningitis like;

  • West Nile virus
  • Influenza
  • Mumps
  • Measles
  • Chickenpox
  • Herpes virus

Parasitic Meningitis

This meningitis happens when the parasite enters your body via the nose and travels to the brain. This parasite then attacks and destroy the brain tissue if untreated death can occur.

The parasite has many origins and loves a found warm water source like;

  • Water heaters
  • Poorly treated swimming pools
  • Warm freshwater sources like lakes, and hot springs (unknown if hot tubs included)
  • Warm water leaking from industries
  • Soil

A recent case of this happening when a family went on vacation to a favorite water park, after swimming the 16-year-old daughter became ill. She was weakened, complained of aches, was on bed rest, went to the hospital and later loss her battle with these parasites.

Fungal Meningitis

In this meningitis, the virus enters the bloodstream and into your spinal cord fluid. Usually a rare event and what makes this virus popular the tainted Steroid was injected into the patient’s spinal cord.

Meningitis occurs when the Steroid makes the immune system weak and unable to fight off the virus. Patients with a higher risk of immunosuppressive in their system can suffer severe adverse conditions including death.

What happened in 2012 when over 50 was killed, and this virus injured over 700.

Other conditions of the virus of Fungal Meningitis are Cryptococcus, Histoplasma, and Blastomyces. These conditions exist when you inhale either tainted soil from bird and bat dropping or decaying organic matters.

Chronic Meningitis

Some people will experience this meningitis for more extended periods – for weeks and months at a time. Some symptoms of this disease like;

  • Fever
  • Confusion
  • Headaches
  • Cases of paralysis
  • Facial numbness

Patients on long-term medication drugs are more likely to develop chronic meningitis like;

  • Cancer patients
  • AIDS patients
  • Seek more information about immunosuppression drugs

Patients with specific diseases or will have some surgery can suffer from this like;

  • Cancer
  • Lupus
  • Brain surgery
  • Injuries

Additional Information.

Being a member of the transportation community I have access to back shipping areas where the normal public cannot go. When a company does not have a product safety training programs then this is a disaster waiting to happen again and again.

Most food makers do have a product safety training program in place.  Moreover, some do follow the FDA guidelines which including how to prepare, handle and package products.

Some guidelines go further with companies that don’t make food but ship them. They have provided training to their employees also in the transport of those products.

Examples of much lousy Product Safety Policy exist today.

Look at the food industry, when was the last time you heard about the recall of medicine, tainted produce, and canned foods. Will this keep happening, I believe yes, more than you realize and how about when history repeats itself. I’ve seen hundreds of these shippers who didn’t have a food safety program-or they appeared not to have one.

Now let’s look back to the Fungal Meningitis situation in 2012, where over 50 people die and over 700 was injured. The CDC found mold inside the mixing area of the plant. If you work in warehousing or know anything about storage, this could go unnoticed for months before the mold was discovered.

Being a member of the transportation community, I have access to back shipping areas where the ordinary public cannot go. When a company does not have a product safety training programs, then this is a disaster waiting to happen again and again.

  1. I remember when one of my cousins was suffering from a form of meningitis in the 2000’s, she was very weak and feverish, but managed to pull through it, hopefully there will be no chance of it coming back, but I haven’t heard anything about her relapsing and it has been more than a decade since so that’s good news. Thanks for the info, I had no idea of the many forms of meningitis until I read your post. Continue writing useful content! 🙂
